January’s workshop is an opportunity to learn a little more about the new CLASS service, including refreshers on how to access CLASS support, what therapies are available through the service, and what new things you can look forward to with CLASS in 2025.
This workshop is for you if you support Looked After Children and would like to know more about services available to them within CTM. You’re new to working within the field and would like more information on what therapeutic provision is available through CLASS. You have experience working with MAPSS but would like to learn more about the additional resources available to you as part of the update to the new CLASS service.

February’s workshop looks at strategies for mitigating and responding to risky behaviour, including factors that can improve the likelihood of positive outcomes and enhanced resilience.
This workshop is for you if you find yourself dealing with difficult/risky behaviour and require support or further guidance around management of these risks. You’d like to know more about developing factors to counter that risk, i.e., protective factors.

Growing up with siblings can be hard work; managing the disagreements and upsets that come with caring for siblings can be just as trying. March’s workshop considers strategies for supporting multiple children in the same household.
This workshop is for you if you have more than one child in the home and find yourself increasingly playing the role of referee. You are trying to support and engage two children with very different presentations at developmental stages.

We’ve all heard that punishment strategies should be avoided particularly when supporting children with trauma histories, but what exactly is punishment? Are you using it? April’s workshop offers insight into these questions.
This workshop is for you if you have heard of punishment strategies but aren’t sure what is or is not a punishment strategy. You would like to increase your understanding of the consequences to improve the level of care you offer to children and young people.

The populations we work with have often experienced adverse events that they may not always remember or understand. May’s workshop considers why it may be important to talk to children about their unpleasant historical experiences and the context in which this may be approached.
This workshop is for you if you support children with unpleasant pasts who ask questions about their experiences. You have an interest in life story work, or the children you support/care for are undergoing life story.

Loss and grief are a natural part of life, but for many of us these experiences do not come until later life. The children we support have often experienced significant loss at a very young age. This workshop explores what can be done to help with bereavements.
This workshop is for you if the children you support have experienced significant loss and bereavement in the past. You would like to learn more about support the can be offered to those who have experienced bereavement in their own lives and continue to be impacted by this.

As technology advances, we increasingly find ourselves having to learn new ways to safeguard the children we support. July’s workshop considers some tips and techniques you can employ to reduce the risks around device use in your home.
This workshop is for you if you find yourself growing concerned over what content your child may be accessing or exposed to online. You are not tech savvy and are uncertain how to use basic features to protect your child’s devices. You would be interested in learning how to use technology to your advantage as a caregiver, e.g., employing AI.

August’s workshop focuses on the essential skills of emotional validation and active listening, empowering participants to create stronger, more compassionate relationships. Join us to explore how empathy can transform your interactions and strengthen your emotional intelligence.
This workshop is for you if you are caring for children who struggle with difficult thoughts or big feelings, if you sometimes question whether you give the right response during these conversations, or if you want to develop deeper relationships with your children.

Dreams are sometimes pleasant, sometimes unpleasant, and often bizarre. For some, dreams can significantly impact our wellbeing and lead to sleep disturbances. But what can we do about it?
This workshop is for you if you’d like to know more about dreams. The children you support have difficulties with repeated bad dreams and you’re uncertain of what you can do to help. You care for a child who repeatedly wakes through the night.

October’s workshop looks at the importance of play in developing secure attachments and stronger relationships. Additionally, we will be considering what strategies you can use to maintain regulation through the day.
This workshop is for you if you're not confident in your play skills and would like to improve in this area, or are uncertain of how to join in with your child’s particular ways of playing. You would like to learn more about the role of play in developing relationships. You find yourself constantly managing dysregulation and are eager to learn ways to maintain a state of regulation. .

While many of us hold expectations of the holiday period being full of laughter and joy, for the children we support the holiday period can often be associated with loss or be a reminder of adverse experiences. and we can see significant escalations as a result.
This workshop is for you if You find the holiday period to be a difficult time. You have a new care-experienced child in your home, classroom, etc., and would like some guidance in how to support them to feel settled. You’d be interested in adding more magic to the festive period!

Unsure of what to have for Christmas this year? Then perhaps a book to “level up” your understanding of trauma or to develop new skills in your intervention toolbox will make its way onto your list. December's workshop explores some helpful books and resources to use.
This workshop is for you if you are eager to learn more about trauma-informed care but are uncertain of what books out there are user friendly with practical applications. You are a bookworm looking to expand your library.
