CLASS provide a range of therapies and support services across the domains of the Trauma Recovery Framework. A CLASS Initial Consultation can help determine which services are right for a young person and their family.
During an Initial Consultation CLASS will consider the child and families needs and recommend therapy and support. CLASS can provide the therapies and support services listed below. CLASS may also recommend other services.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a form of psychotherapy, as well as a branch of clinical behaviour analysis. It is an empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies along with commitment and behaviour-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility.

CLASS can offer a range of assessments to assess a young persons emotional, relational, behavioural and psychological needs. We provide complex assessments that consider the wider environment and therapy assessments that engage the child to assess their needs. Discuss your assessment needs with us.

Our creative Therapy Team offer a range of attachment based therapies including Play Therapy, Parent Child Attachment Play, Theraplay and Relationship Based Play.

Behavioural Therapy is typically used to treat maladaptive behaviours including those linked to mental health disorders. This form of therapy seeks to identify and help change potentially self-destructive or unhealthy behaviours.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.
It's most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.

Developing Emotional Understanding (DEU) is a therapy specifically designed to support children who have had adverse childhood experiences (ACES) which have impacted on their emotional development. The therapy supports them to understand, accept and regulate core emotions and to use these skills in every day life.

When times are difficult CLASS can provide specialist carer consultation and guidance. These consultations will include individually designed trauma informed parenting support to help the carer overcome barriers and support the child and young person. CLASS also provide a range of targeted training workshops on specific areas such as managing childhood risk, attachment, developing emotional engagement and more. Consultations are specifically for foster and adoptive parents.

Integrative Play Therapy can be used to support children aged 3 to 12 years of age to process trauma, understand emotions, develop relationships and develop skills. CLASS has trained play therapists who can provide support and design a therapeutic process to support the child.

Parent Child Attachment Play (PCAP) is a parent and child therapy that supports parents to develop practices that can support their child's attachment needs in the home. Once developed the parent puts these practices into place with the child or young person. We have had great success using this therapy when children are rehabilitated home to birth parents.

Specialist support for children and young people who are transitioning to a new placement and have complex needs or a complex trauma history. This support includes therapy for the child, advice for parents and carers and support with therapeutic transition planning.

Many children who have experienced ACEs have not developed essential life skills to support them to reach their potential. This therapy targets skills such as the ability to wait, tolerance to being told no, social skill delays and functional communication skills with a bespoke programme of support.
